Keynote speaker Dr. DeRionne Pollard, emcee Patranya Bhoolsuwan, and a fireside chat with Las Vegas Aces’ Nikki Fargas are among the highlights at this year’s event
The National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada (NAWBO) will host its 2022 Women of Distinction Award (WODA) luncheon at Conference Center of Las Vegas, 6590 Bermuda Road, in Las Vegas, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 25th.

The WODA awards honor the achievement of women in business and philanthropy. For the second year in a row, this year’s event will be emceed by Patranya Bhoolsuwan, a three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and Nevada Association of Broadcasters winner of the “Reporter of the Year” honor.
The luncheon’s keynote speaker is Dr. DeRionne Pollard, president of Nevada State College and first permanent Black woman president of any Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) institution.
The luncheon will also include a fireside chat with Nikki Fargas, president of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Fargas oversees the basketball and business operations for the franchise, which won the 2022 WNBA championship.
In addition to its 13 awards categories, the WODA event also awards grants, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. This year’s grant and awards finalists represent a diverse cross-section of business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and community influencers.
