The Center, in partnership with Las Vegas PRIDE, will hold a special event for youth ages 5-12 and their families on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
PRIDE for Kids celebration is in response to the increased need for services by young children identifying as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
“At The Center, we strive to listen, understand, and meet the ever-changing needs of our community,” says Holly Reese (she/her/hers), director of Community Engagement and Advocacy. “More and more, we receive calls from parents asking for support, services, and activities for children as young as ten. We want to be responsive to the rise in young people identifying as queer. They are visionaries and change makers, driving trends, technology, legislation, and language.”
PRIDE for Kids will celebrate children being their authentic selves with all the fun and beauty in our community.
There will be games, food, prizes, face painting, activities, and more.
Youth will even have the opportunity to be the stars of their very own mini Pride parade. It is a free event to attend, but you must register in advance online at https://tinyurl.com/PRIDE-for-kids-2022
