Las Vegas residents are invited to participate in the proposed Northwest Regional Park virtual town hall meeting Tuesday, Dec. 15. Join the conversation at Facebook.com/CityOfLasVegas from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and watch on livestream.com/CityOfLasVegas.
Phase I of the proposed park would encompass approximately 40 acres at the northwest corner of Log Cabin Way and El Capitan Way. The site is located in Ward 6, and is in the process of being leased from the Bureau of Land Management. Area residents are encouraged to give their input on what amenities they would like to see at the proposed park by taking a survey at https://CityOfLasVegas.link/nrpsurvey.
“I hope area residents will take the park survey and participate in the virtual town hall,” said Ward 6 Councilwoman Michele Fiore. “As Las Vegas continues to grow, especially to the north and west, we need to provide appropriate spaces for residents to enjoy the outdoors, exercise and play together. This proposed project would provide a wonderful new resource for all the area residents, and at the same time provide employment for many.”
The proposed park site includes a portion of the historical railroad bed of the former Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad, as well as the Tule Springs/Ten Mile railroad water station and a former railroad construction camp.
