On Saturday, March 26, from 10 am to 4 pm, in partnership with Gender Justice, The Center will host Gender Fest celebrating transgender, non-binary, genderfluid, Two-spirit, Intersex, and other gender-diverse communities.
There will be sessions about trans-affirming medical care, mental health and recovery, Intersex issues, gender diverse youth, trans veterans, faith and religion, and trans ally training.
“The Center respects the full circle of human qualities, unique identities, perspectives, and abilities. Through events like Gender Fest, our team works to address health disparities and barriers to care for transgender communities,” says John Waldron, Ed.D, Chief Executive Officer at The Center.
The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada holds diversity, equity, and inclusion as intrinsic values and strives to ensure these values are reflected at every turn.
About The LGBTQ+ Community Center of Southern Nevada (The Center)
For over 25 years, The Center has cared for, championed, and celebrated LGBTQ+ individuals and underserved populations in Nevada. We function as the heart and home of the LGBTQ+ community by making connections, delivering programs, and providing a safe space for health and wellness, social services, arts and culture, advocacy, and community building. Ongoing Center programs support LGBTQ+ youth, adults, families, seniors, vets, people with disabilities, those living with HIV, and underserved populations. Additionally, we are proud to offer the Center Advocacy Network, the first nationally accredited program of its kind, focusing on LGBTQ issues for victim advocacy.
