Proceeds From The STRAT’s SkyJump will be Donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on Saturday, March 12
The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod will host its first ever “SkyJump for a Cure” charitable event, partnering with Students of the Year in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
Throughout the day of the event, all proceeds from The STRAT’s SkyJump will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help reach an end goal of $50,000.
“It’s an honor to take part in this incredible and special event with Students of the Year,” said Stephen Thayer, vice president and general manager of The STRAT. “We are thrilled to support this cause and are looking forward to seeing a great number of participants join us.”
SkyJump, The STRAT’s heart-pounding, open-air leap from 829 feet above the Las Vegas Valley, holds a Guinness World Record as the highest commercial decelerator descent facility. The controlled descent reaches speeds of over 40 miles per hour.
Through Students of the Year, high school students take on innovative campaigns during a seven-week competition to raise money for cures and access to treatment for blood cancer. The “SkyJump for a Cure” campaign is led by 17-year-old student, Kailee Olliges.
“I hold this cause near and dear to my heart,” said Olliges. “It’s my mission to help create a world without blood cancer. After all, everyone wins when cancer loses.”
To take part in “SkyJump for a Cure,” tickets may be purchased online, on-site or by calling 702-380-4517.
Free parking and valet are always available at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod.
