Las Vegas hospitality leader will oversee conference and convention division of vertically integrated luxury destination opening in the fourth quarter of 2023
As Fontainebleau Las Vegas’ leadership team continues to develop in advance of its global debut in the fourth quarter of 2023, 15-year Las Vegas hospitality executive Tony Yousfi has been appointed Senior Vice President of Sales Catering and Conference Services of the in-progress luxury destination conceived by Fontainebleau Development. Mr. Yousfi is leading the resort’s conference and convention division, including sales, catering, conference services, leisure sales, special events, group dining, and convention marketing.
Mr. Yousfi comes to Fontainebleau Las Vegas having most recently served as Chief Growth Officer for Carver Road Hospitality, an investor, developer, operator, and marketer of top-tier hospitality concepts; and as Vice President of Sales, Services, Catering, Group Dining, and Weddings at MGM Resorts International, where he served on the opening team of ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Yousfi is the recipient of The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Top 25 Award for exceptional leadership in the industry.
“Tony’s leadership and success in event planning and execution, sales, marketing, revenue generation – all of the critical areas that require a forward-thinking mindset and an understanding of the core customer – are critical to our success,” says Fontainebleau Las Vegas President Cliff Atkinson. “The upward-thinking design, accessibility, and location of Fontainebleau Las Vegas will revolutionize the city’s meetings and convention industry, with Tony as a driving force behind our strategy and vision.”
Upon opening, Fontainebleau Las Vegas will host more than 550,000 square feet of customizable indoor/outdoor meeting and convention space; including one of the Strip’s largest pillarless ballrooms (105,000-square-feet); a three-level, 92,000-square-foot theater; and a 26,000-square-foot outdoor hospitality garden, among other amenities. With its location neighboring the $1 billion West Hall expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Fontainebleau Las Vegas will provide unprecedented access and synergistic opportunity for meeting planners.
“To be at the forefront of change and play a leading role in reshaping this city’s convention industry is a both dream and an opportunity that I welcome with great enthusiasm,” says Mr. Yousfi. “This is an incredible leadership team, and what we’re doing at Fontainebleau Las Vegas is going to make a global impact.
“The timing of this project is extraordinary in relation to the development of the north-end of the Las Vegas Strip, and Convention Center. I feel more prepared and excited than ever to be part of this project and the development of our city.”
Fontainebleau Las Vegas resides on 25 acres at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The property, acquired in 2021 by Fontainebleau Development and partner Koch Real Estate Investments, will be solely operated by Fontainebleau upon its opening.
