Brooklyn Bowl is starting off 2022 strong, hosting award-winning psychedelic soul group The Marías last night for its first sold-out performance of the year.
Hundreds of fans packed The Bowl to catch a glimpse of the group’s highly anticipated return to the stage kicking off their Cinema tour.
The energy in the room was palpable as the band’s velvety vocals and dreamy melodies paired with its signature rhythmic soul enraptured fans. “This is our first real show in two years, and it feels amazing to be back!” said lead singer Maria Zardoya as the crowd swayed in unison to the group’s hit song “Only in My Dreams.”
Halfway through the electric performance, the familiar three-note piano riff intro to “…baby one more time” filled the air causing fans to erupt in cheers and sing along with the band’s cover of the Britney Spears megahit.
The Marías closed out the show with a fan-favorite off their latest release “All I Really Want Is You.” But the fans weren’t ready for the night to end, chanting “one more song!” before the group returned to the stage for two encore performances of “Hush” and “Cariño” as they bid the crowd farewell.
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas continues to bring the heat heading into the Spring with Melvin Seals & JGB (Jan. 28), Dinosaur Jr. + Built To Spill (Feb. 4), The Green (Feb. 5), Aminé (Feb. 6) and Polo & Pan (Feb. 8).
