The coolest way to send off summer this coming Labor Day weekend is at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. The diverse holiday weekend music lineup of reggae, electronic and metalcore includes The Green with special guest Natural Vibrations on Wednesday, Aug. 28; Steel Pulse on Thursday, Aug. 29; Thievery Corporation presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis on Friday, Aug. 30, and Polaris with special guests Blessthefall, Thousand Below and Nerv on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Green brings their Summertime Tour to The Bowl with special guest Natural Vibrations. Since forming on O’ahu, Hawai’i in 2009, The Green has become one of the most successful and beloved bands in the reggae genre. During their 10-year run, they’ve won a plethora of awards, locally and nationally. The band has been awarded a Best Reggae Album nod from iTunes, with their fourth album, Marching Orders, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae chart.
Their most recent album, Black & White, is an acoustic take on their greatest hits and is currently up for multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominations including Reggae Album of the Year and Group of the Year. Their latest release, “My Hawai’i,” carries a powerful message that embodies the resilience of the Hawaiian community in their continuous fight to protect their homelands. It is currently also up for a Na Hoku Hanohano Award as Single of the Year. Doors for The Green open at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 18+ show are $39.95.
Reggae revolutionaries, Steel Pulse are making a stop in Las Vegas on their Summer 2024 North American Tour. The British reggae powerhouse exemplifies musical vengeance to halt the disarray of humanity. The band’s twelfth studio production, Mass Manipulation, reflects four decades committed to bettering mankind through music. The six-time GRAMMY-nominated group’s songs and lyrics continue to engage controversial topics of racial injustice and human rights on a global scale. Through the example of Mass Manipulation, Steel Pulse demonstrates the endless possibilities that come from breaking down the walls of systemic greed and nurturing the fellowship of mankind. Doors for Steel Pulse open at 7 p.m. Tickets for the all-ages show start at $47.90.
Thievery Corporation‘s music has always looked toward the future while paying homage to the past, starting with their groundbreaking debut LP, 1996’s “Sounds From The Thievery Hi-Fi,” which both introduced the world to Rob Garza and Eric Hilton as producers and set their course as pioneers of song-based electronic music with wildly diverse vocalists. In a live setting, Thievery Corporation avoids any electronic dance music tropes, and their concerts are true performances, with a killer band of players and an array of vocalists from diverse global cultures.
No two shows feel the same. By not following trends or the whims of major labels, and embracing the cultural diversities that make the world such a wondrous place, Thievery Corporation has created a legacy that runs deep and continues to expand. Their music will continue on to reverberate and influence the next generation of listeners with an ear toward a global musical experience. Doors for Thievery Corporation presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the 18+ show start at $48.95.
Sydney, Australia-based metal band Polaris, bring their North American Tour to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas with special guests Blessthefall, Thousand Below and Nerv. Fatalism, Polaris’s third studio album, equally steeped in angst and catharsis, organically builds on the bleak imagery and hard-hitting soundscapes permeating Polaris’s ARIA Award-nominated 2020 release The Death of Me, galvanizing the Sydney five-piece’s trademark blend of melodic metalcore, lush post rock, electronic flourishes and beyond.
Across 11 tracks, Fatalism wields emphatic relatability and explosive arrangements, from its atmospheric, doom-laden opener “Harbinger” to the foreboding anthem “Nightmare,” and the pummeling delights of “The Crossfire,” both dealing in elasticated riffs and the coruscating vocals of Jamie Hails.
As a whole, Fatalism casts its gaze more outwardly than its 2020 predecessor The Death Of Me. The result is an album that combines Polaris’s trademark mélange of ferocity and melody with new sonic twists and a lyrical focus that, while far from easy listening, is as cathartic for the listener as it is the group. Doors for Polaris open at 6 p.m. Tickets for the all-ages show start at $48.80.
