Join us as we kick off 2022 with our anticipated Laps for Charity fundraising event to benefit the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
The event will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Jan. 30, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Pacific). NASCAR fans and car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to drive their vehicles around the 1.5-mile superspeedway at speeds up to 75 miles per hour (behind a pace car), all in an effort to raise money for local children’s charities. Fans are invited to experience the thrill of a lifetime, driving their car, truck, motorcycle, or other street-legal vehicles on the same track as your favorite NASCAR drivers!
Laps for Charity is open to all licensed drivers 18 years of age and older. Car Club entry fees are $65 per vehicle for five continuous laps between 8 a.m. to noon. (Car club presidents must contact SCC to schedule their club arrival time.) All VIP Concierge entry fees are $100 per vehicle for seven continuous laps between 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. General Public entry fees are $75 per vehicle for five continuous laps between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
All vehicles must be street legal, drivers must have a valid license and proof of insurance, and car clubs and company fleets are welcome to participate. All vehicle occupants must be at least 6 years of age. To keep things as safe as possible during our event, we will observe the following COVID precautions:
- Everyone MUST remain in their cars
- No spectators on property; You must stay in the vehicle you arrived in
- Participants may not get out of their vehicles to take photos
- If you have to exit your vehicle to visit the restroom, then a mask or face covering is required
Participants must pay in advance; no payment will be accepted onsite. To register for the event, go to https://www.speedwaycharities.org/lasvegas/.
In addition, local media representatives will have the chance to drive on the superspeedway and interview SCC staff and guests at the annual Laps for Charity Media Day on Thursday, Jan. 20. The media day begins at 11 a.m. and will conclude at noon. The media will be able to get a sneak peek at what Laps for Charity participants will experience on January 30.
During Laps for Charity Media Day, local media representatives will also get the opportunity to meet with K.I.T.T — the artificially intelligent supercar from Knight Rider — as well as owner Catherine Hickland, who portrayed the role of Stevie Mason in the show.
