Selected artist, or artist team, will create mural in conjunction with NFL Pro Bowl Community Day on Feb. 3
The City of Henderson is seeking professional artists to commission a mural and participate in the NFL Pro Bowl Community Day. The Feb. 3 event allows the community to help refurbish and beautify Wells Park in partnership with the National Football League (NFL) and the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada.
Selected artist(s) will paint a mural on the exterior walls of the Boys and Girls Club next to Wells Park that encapsulates the theme, “We are Wells – A Place Where We Play.” Throughout the mural, the artist(s) will need to portray elements of football, sports and other outdoor activities.
A section of the mural must be left unpainted for members of the NFL and local youth to paint alongside the artist(s) on Feb. 3.
Artist(s) will need to create artwork that depicts the theme in an interpretation that includes community, diversity and play as it relates to the surrounding Pittmann community near Boulder Highway.
Only one artist, or artist team, will be selected for this project in which they will have one week to complete. The selected applicant will be compensated with up to $13,500.
The deadline for artists to apply is Monday, Jan. 17, with installation starting on Jan. 31 through Feb. 3. Wells Park is located at 1608 Moser Dr.
