The 23rd annual 98.5 KLUC Chet Buchanan Show Toy Drive benefitting HELP of Southern Nevada collected an unprecedented number of donations with the 12-day event filling 42 trucks with new toys, 7,981 bicycles and more than $600,000 in gift cards and monetary donations.
This year’s Toy Drive, presented by Venetian Las Vegas, was a success made possible through generous contributions from Governor Steve Sisolak, Credit One Bank, Walgreens, Allstate, Claggett & Sykes Law Firm, Amazon and the local community.
Over the past 12 consecutive days, radio host Chet Buchanan lived atop a 30-foot-high scaffold in the NV Energy Parking Lot to bring awareness and holiday cheer to children and families in need this season. Listeners, businesses and supporters from across the city donated new and unwrapped toys, gift cards, monetary donations and bikes for children of all ages – ranging from newborn to 18 years old.
“We cannot express how thankful we are for Chet Buchanan, Audacy, Venetian Resort and the Southern Nevada community for their continued support this holiday season,” said HELP of Southern Nevada President and CEO, Fuilala Riley. “It is incredible to watch the community come together and exceed expectations year over year. With your help, more than 1,800 families will have something special to unwrap this Christmas season.”
The donations from the 98.5 KLUC Chet Buchanan Toy Drive will be distributed to 100 agencies and 1,800 pre-qualified families throughout Southern Nevada at HELP of Southern Nevada’s Framing Hope Warehouse, Dec. 15 – 17.
