The Nevada Room presents an homage to the classic holiday movie “White Christmas” for the 2021 Christmas show with performances now until December 26, it was announced by Tom Michel, president of The Nevada Room.
The Christmas show begins with a screening of the original trailer of “White Christmas” starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. The trailer is followed by a foursome of vocalists comprised of a rotating cast of some of the best voices in Las Vegas including Michelle Johnson, Rob Hyatt, Paula Diane Ingram, Phillip Officer, Linda Woodson, D Train, Kelly Vohnn, Tim Molyneux, Eric Sean, Doug Carpenter, Janien Valentine and Sam Holder. The singers recreate the music from the movie with piano accompaniment and musical direction from Keith Thompson.
“White Christmas is a holiday favorite of millions of Americans and Las Vegans are no different,” said Tom Michel. “It is rich with great Irving Berlin music including “Sisters,” “Snow,” “Count Your Blessings” and, of course, “White Christmas.”
The performance of White Christmas follows a sumptuous Christmas dinner created and handcrafted by popular Chef David Robinson. Chef David offers three choices for Christmas dinner including roast beef, turkey with dressing, and pasta (vegan). Fresh berries and pumpkin pie (with cherries!) are offered as dessert. Dinner service begins at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the handcrafted Christmas dinners, The Nevada Room offers many specialty cocktails created by head bartender/mixologist Michael Schaus. That includes his latest drinks, The Kelly Christmas Cocktail, invented in honor of Kelly Clinton made with lemon vodka, sweet and sour mix, Cointreau, Chambord Raspberry Liqueur, and fresh raspberries served in a sugar-rimmed martini glass.
The Nevada Room is located at 953 E. Sahara Avenue in the historic Commercial Center where there is always free and easy parking. White Christmas will be performed from now until December 26th. There is a $10 music charge.
