Hundreds of Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada (RTSNV) volunteers spruced up eight homes across Southern Nevada in honor of Make a Difference Day.
Every year on the fourth Saturday in October, this national observance encourages volunteers to enact positive change in their own communities.
RTSNV volunteers consisting of 10 teams were armed with everything from paint brushes and shovels to hedge clippers and rakes, beautifying the homes through yard clean-up, xeriscaping and painting at no cost to the low-income homeowners in need. This year, RTSNV volunteers and sponsors that worked on the homes included: MMC Contractors West, Inc., NV Energy, Chase, Commercial Roofers, Aqua Plumbing, Spectrum, United States Air Force, KHS&S Contractors, Forever Home Realty and Mission Support & Test Services, LLC.
RTSNV was founded in 1994 and rehabilitates existing homes to improve their overall health and safety. The nonprofit serves to transform the lives of low-income homeowners, including seniors, veterans and people with disabilities, who are often faced with diminishing resources and must choose food and medicine over critical home repairs. The nonprofit provides critical repairs to homes year-round, such as ADA modifications, repairing and replacing roofing, HVAC units, plumbing and water heaters.Learn more about RTSNV and its home repair programs at www.rtsnv.org.
