Volunteers will support various HFD initiatives and receive free training
The City of Henderson Fire Department (HFD) is now accepting volunteer applications from community members who have an interest in supporting the fire department and the community.
HFD is seeking volunteers to support the following areas:
- CPR and First Aid Instructors – HFD will certify volunteers as instructors to assist in teaching Henderson residents
- Emergency Management Services Training Support – Volunteers will assist in role-playing for emergency medical technician training scenarios
- Fire Station Open Houses – Volunteers will assist in providing various life-saving tips and tours of the fire stations
Volunteers are an important part of HFD operations as the program offers a fun and exciting way for residents to make a difference in the community.
Time commitment will vary, but volunteers can expect to provide two to eight hours of volunteer time a week. Training will be provided to each volunteer to ensure proper knowledge of the department, medical tools and other areas needed to complete their task.
