Stone laminate manufacturer demonstrates its newest product version and warranty to help hotels save millions on stone counter maintenance
In its eighth year at the HD Expo, TuffSkin Surface Protection (booth 3650) is bringing its best with version 6.0 of its laminate protectant.
The new TuffSkin now also comes with a 10-year warranty against etching and staining and has the potential to save hotels and resort operators millions over the life of a stone countertop.
TuffSkin Founders Lelia and Frank Friedlander hired a chemist to help them improve the already successful formulation of TuffSkin’s hard coat. The new laminate protectant is more scratch resistant, clear, and durable than ever, while still allowing hotel guests to enjoy the natural, elegant stone look beneath it. TuffSkin’s new 10-year warranty is a game changer for hotels and resorts who want to reduce the cost of maintaining and refurbishing their stone counters.
“A typical major hotel or resort renovation occurs every eight to nine years,” said Frank Friedlander. “With the new TuffSkin, you can keep a stone like marble that easily etches and stains looking brand new for 10 years, and the only cost you have when you renovate is to re-apply the TuffSkin laminate.”
The TuffSkin team studied a 200-room hotel and found that with the new formula and expanded warranty, the property would realize a more than $1 million savings over the course of 10 years. The property could forego annual restorative and maintenance efforts; meanwhile, spills of the most corrosive liquids like red wine, lemon juice, coffee, mouthwash and others could be easily wiped off by guests or housekeeping staff.
With its new offering, TuffSkin has also expanded its dealer reach throughout North America and internationally. Some of its more recent dealer additions include: Turkey, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Macau, Hong Kong and Dubai. The first TuffSkin product was introduced in 2007 and to date TuffSkin has protected more than 250,000 stone countertops worldwide.
This year, in addition to showcasing its improved offering, the TuffSkin team is looking forward to reconnecting with other vendors and customers at HD Expo in booth 3650.
“We’re excited to be back after last year’s cancellation,” added Lelia Friedlander. “We’ll be taking all precautions needed and following all of the safety rules so we can interface with our vendors and customers.”
