Earlier this week, HELP of Southern Nevada, a local non-profit dedicated to assisting Southern Nevada’s most vulnerable individuals, recognized 22 of its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Youth Program students who graduated high school or an occupation training program over the past year.
The celebratory event featured food, games and raffle prizes for graduates and their families.
In alignment with HELP of Southern Nevada’s mission to assist both families and individuals to overcome barriers and attain self-sufficiency through direct services, training and referral to community resources – the organization offers pre-employment services that empower participants to enter or re-enter the labor market. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Youth program provides students ages 14-24 with long term outcomes such as basic educational and employment skills, completion of academic certifications and placement in employment or training post-secondary education through workshops, support groups, networking and more.
The 2021 graduates have gained confidence and skills that will be used time and time again. For more information on HELP of Southern Nevada’s programs, please visit https://www.helpsonv.org/programs.php.
