The Center Hosts “La Parrillada del Orgullo” – a Latin BBQ in Celebration of PRIDE
This Saturday in celebration of PRIDE, the LGBTQ Center of Las Vegas will host La Parrillada del Orgullo, its first BBQ geared towards the LGBTQ’s Latin community of Southern Nevada.
The Center Hosts “La Parrillada del Orgullo” – a Latin BBQ in Celebration of PRIDE
Connecting to the Latin LGBTQ+ community to support groups, programming, and services remains a challenge due to the stigma that continues to exist in Latin culture.
The BBQ is a way to attract LGBTQ+ Latin communities and their allies and bring attention to programs and services within The Center. The Center offers support groups in English and Spanish, a computer lab, a 24-hours crisis line, free HIV testing, linkage to mental health/substance abuse counseling, and education for the LGBTQIA+ identified individuals and their families. The Center wants people in LGBTQIA+ Latin communities to know that it is a safe space.

WHAT: Latin Pride BBQ. This event is entirely FREE, including the food! There will be community resources, raffles, free HIV testing, and entertainment headlining well-known female impersonators and local singers in the LGBTQIA+ community and the Latin community.
