About Mayte’s Rescue
Mayte’s Rescue, a non-profit 501(c)3 animal humane organization, was formed by Mayte Garcia in 2013 to place adoptable dogs in new and loving homes. At the time, Mayte had seen a disturbing image online of a trash can full of euthanized dogs and cats. Originally starting as a one-person organization, taking in animals from acquaintances, family members, etc. – the rescue has grown into a nationwide force. Once an organization that saved a handful of animals a year, Mayte’s Rescue now can bring up to 40+ dogs to safety on a MONTHLY basis.
Mayte’s Rescue has recently partnered with several organizations in Puerto Rico to help rescue dogs left behind by the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Being of Puerto Rican descent herself, Mayte feels a strong connection to these animals, and Mayte’s Rescue is committed to continuing to find suitable homes for these abandoned innocents. Mayte’s Rescue is currently in the process of opening our new facility in Las Vegas. Until then we rely on fosters and generous donors to help board and vet these wonderful creatures. Rescue is in our blood! Please get involved.
