Two shows nightly at 7 and 8:30 p.m.
Vic’s Las Vegas welcomes the Jeff Hamilton Organ Trio for two special nights. Renowned drummer Jeff Hamilton will be joined by Jon Hamar (bass) and Tamir Hendelman (piano).
Performing with some of the richest voices and instrumentalists in jazz – Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Michael Bublé, Lionel Hampton, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, Count Basie, and Rosemary Clooney, to name a few – it is no surprise that Jeff Hamilton is revered as one of the most musical of drummers. Always in high demand, Hamilton brings versatility, driving beats and technical perfection to every performance.
Versatile bassist Jon Hamar has performed with Ernestine Anderson, Benny Golson, Terell Stafford, Pete Christlieb, the Jeff Hamilton Trio, and the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. In 2012, Jon joined the faculty at the Centrum Jazz Workshop under Artistic Director John Clayton and in 2015 joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee.
Hamar is currently Assistant Professor of Bass at the Nathalie L. Haslam School of Music in Knoxville, TN. Jon began performing with the Jeff Hamilton Trio in July of 2018 and recently toured Europe with the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton featuring renowned vocalist Cecil McLaren Salvant.
An award-winning jazz pianist, Tamir Hendelman has performed with Teddy Edwards, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, Harry Allen, Tierney Sutton, Phil Upchurch, Jeff Clayton, Rickey Woodard, Sandra Booker, and Barbara Morrison. He has recorded with Oscar Brashear, Bob Sheppard, and Jeff Clayton.
His accomplishments include receiving awards from ASCAP and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, served as musical director for Lovewell Institute for Creative Arts, and clinician for the Thelonius Monk Institute. In March of 2000, Tamir joined the Jeff Hamilton Trio and in January of 2001, became the pianist with the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. He was a recent guest soloist with the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.
