Las Vegas Businesses Team Up to Tackle Hunger During National Volunteer Month

Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Cat’s Meow and Dick’s Last Resort To Benefit Serving Our Kids Foundation

Local Las Vegas businesses are teaming up during National Volunteer Month to collect non-perishable food items to benefit Serving Our Kids Foundation.

During the month of April, Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Cat’s Meow and Dick’s Last Resort will be collecting items such as canned pasta, shelf-stable chocolate milk, cereal, breakfast bars, fruit pouches, instant oatmeal, ramen, fruit snacks and crackers in efforts to provide weekend meal bags to children who come from food insecure households. 

“As a company, we are fortunate to have access to a network of businesses that are willing to come together for a greater cause,” said Andrea Woods, Director Of Community Relations and Finance for Go BEST: the entertainment, solutions and technology company that represents dozens of businesses across the country, including Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Cat’s Meow and Dick’s Last Resort. “We are honored to be partnering with a 501c3 organization such as Serving Our Kids Foundation to help alleviate the problem of food insecurity within our community.”

A Fill The Bus drive will take place at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club on Saturday, April 1 beginning at 9 a.m. The goal is to fill a 32-passenger bus with donations by the end of the day.

ABOUT SERVING OUR KIDS FOUNDATION

Based in Henderson, Nevada, Serving Our Kids is a small grassroots 501c3 operation founded in 2013 whose mission is simple: To feed and serve the needs of Clark County homeless, at-risk and food insecure children by providing weekly, weekend meal bags to children who would otherwise go hungry when not in school. 

The Foundation relies on community organizations and volunteers to make this possible. Currently, Serving Our Kids is feeding more than 4000 children every week, in grades K-8^th grade, in over 100 schools in Clark County.

There is an estimated 128,000 food-insecure children under the age of 18 in Clark County. Many families are not eligible for nutrition programs… that’s the gap Serving Our Kids fills by providing their children a weekend meal bag.
