The resort is partnering with Women Who Explore’s Las Vegas chapter in a fundraiser for Girls on the Run Las Vegas
Lee Canyon’s annual International Women’s Day celebration is Wednesday, March 8. The day includes learn-to-ski and snowboard clinics and a terrain park skills-share for snowboarders starting at 10 a.m.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hey Maker will present a curated vendor village of local women-owned businesses, and guests can enjoy a line-up of local women DJs at the Bristlecone Bar.
For the first time, Lee Canyon is partnering with Women Who Explore Las Vegas chapter to offer a 90-minute introduction to skiing and snowboarding clinics.
People who register through Women Who Explore Las Vegas’ Facebook page will receive a daily ticket, rentals, and instruction. Registration is $115 per person. Lee Canyon is donating 100 percent of proceeds to Girls on the Run Las Vegas, a nonprofit that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.
At the top of every hour, people can join the snowboard skill-share clinics by meeting Lee Canyon coaches at the Bristlecone Sky Deck. Riders will learn terrain park and freestyle riding technique including approach, takeoff, maneuver, and landing.
“Lee Canyon encourages all people to join us in a day created to celebrate inclusion and honor women’s equality in snow sports and society,” said Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s director of marketing. “This is a great opportunity for people to connect with others who share their curiosity and passion for the great outdoors.”
Lee Canyon’s commemorative International Women’s Day t-shirts will also be offered at the event.
All proceeds will be donated to Girls on the Run. Lee Canyon is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
