This January 2023, Mario Basner’s gallery turns six years old – home to iconic and inspirational art pieces which have propelled the Las Vegas art scene onto the international map while Basner dedicates support to the next generation of fine art enthusiasts at UNLV.
Mario Basner’s gallery opened in Tivoli Village in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2017. Voted “Best Art Gallery” six years in a row by the Review Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” reader’s poll, Basner supports local Las Vegas communities through philanthropy, education and support of local non-profit organizations.
This 3,700 square-foot gallery is currently home to the emotional, historic installation of the Beelitz Sanatorium Documentary, a growing series of historic library portraits and other curated works by Mario Basner.
Mario Basner deepens his roots in the Las Vegas community even further with the establishment of the ‘Mario Basner Passion Project Fund’ for UNLV students majoring in Photography which kicks off this year.
This program was created with the intention to inspire, motivate and encourage students to find their voice through a passion-driven project that holds significant importance to them. The fund will facilitate costs and provide opportunities to travel anywhere in the world in order to allow students the freedom to pursue their passion without having to worry of the financial burden that traveling as a college student may bring.
“We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Mario Basner Passion Project Fund. Photographer Mario Basner and his wife, Deanna Riley, wish to encourage students to identify and carry out a passion project unique and meaningful to them,” tweeted by the UNLV College of Fine Arts.
Mario Basner will be holding a private event for media, supporters and UNLV beneficiaries on January 18, 2023, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. to commemorate his work and the connections that his art has brought to the Las Vegas community.
