On Friday, July 29, 2022, the City of North Las Vegas held an Unplug and Play Toys event at Liberty Park.
Hosted by Councilman Isaac Barron and Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown, the City and its partners provided a variety of toys and board games, including LEGOs, soccer balls, hoverboards and more, that encourage local kids to play away from screens.
In addition to the donations, the City held a variety of outdoor activities for kids to participate in, such as soccer drills, water games and a demonstration from the North Las Vegas Fire Department.
“It was a pleasure to spend time outdoors with so many folks in our community and encourage even our youngest citizens to be active. We know how hard it can be to get outside in the heat of the summer, and we are thankful for the generous donations from our wonderful partners who support the City’s mission for kids to unplug,” Councilman Isaac Barron said.
Toys from today’s event were donated by the United Movement Organized Kindness, Toys for Tots and Good 360. The City of North Las Vegas is proud to work with these organizations to provide the best they can for citizens of all ages.
“We are always looking for ways we can do more for the families in our City, and we are just thrilled with the turnout for today’s event,” Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown said.
