Using Marijuana Legally in Las Vegas

The legalization of marijuana in Nevada caught the attention of locals and tourists in the state. However, due to the new law, some individuals have been arrested and charged with various crimes.

Many lawyers have been defending their clients being arrested in Las Vegas for possessing marijuana, insisting that knowing the various laws in the state about the usage of marijuana can help prevent people from getting caught.

The Basics of Nevada Marijuana Use Laws

Following the passage of the law, entertaining marijuana usage was legalized in Nevada.

Although entertaining marijuana use is permitted in the state, it is not allowed for people with medical conditions to apply it.

In Nevada, it is still legal to own up to one ounce of marijuana. However, possessing more than that quantity is considered a crime and can violate the legislation.

It is also legal to purchase marijuana from licensed medical or retail marijuana stores in Nevada. However, buying it outside of the state is considered a crime and again could result in a legislation violation.

Despite its reputation as a party town, it is still vital that the people follow the rules when it comes to gambling at 22Bet. This is because the state holds a huge amount of money and cannot allow anything to affect its legislation.

In Nevada, it is still legal to smoke marijuana in public. However, it is not allowed in the state’s casinos. Under the law, it is only allowed on a private estate.

This policy will not change because of the stance of the federal government on the usage of marijuana.

If you are caught applying marijuana in Las Vegas while driving and get into a car accident, you could be charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

You Can Be Detained for Marijuana In Las Vegas

A lot of people talking about the usage of marijuana in Las Vegas believe that the city is a party town that encourages its residents to have a good time and the only the most notable exclusion to this rule is the way the city’s casinos operate.

If you are found with marijuana in the presence of several people, such as your roommates and spouse, you could be facing a possession charge. If the marijuana is found inside a car or in a room, all of those individuals could also be charged with possession.

If a housekeeper discovers evidence of marijuana use in a room, then they should report it to the authorities. Getting detained in Las Vegas could end your party. If you have more than a particle of marijuana at your disposal, you could encounter a year in jail. If you are also caught selling marijuana, you could also get charged with up to 4 years in prison, depending on the charges.

Contact a Las Vegas Criminal Defense Attorney

Although the state of Nevada has officially allowed the use of marijuana, it’s still illegal to use the drug in public. If you’ve been arrested for possession or selling marijuana in Las Vegas, contact a criminal defense attorney immediately.

Over the years, criminal defense attorneys have helped many people avoid getting charged with marijuana-related offenses.
