You probably think of The Strip when thinking of Las Vegas.
The main street that crosses the city’s center from North to South is home to some of the most world-renowned casinos. Bellagio, MGM Grand, The Aria – all of them are situated along the Las Vegas Strip.
However, if you’re in town to play slot machines, you might be surprised to hear that the casinos that boast the widest selection are located Downtown, in North Las Vegas, and on The Boulder Strip.
Off The Strip Slot Machines
If you’re a sucker for slot machines and like to choose from 2000 games or more, there is no reason to visit the Strip. None of the casinos there will offer what you’re looking for.
Instead, head West to Summerlin – a quick 20-minute drive from the city center – and visit the Red Rock Resort. The modern casino hotel features amazing views over the city, an unrivaled aesthetic for its interior design, modern rooms, and a great pool area. What’s more, with over 2,800 slot machines, the casino offers the largest selection in all of Las Vegas!
If the Red Rock isn’t your thing, check out Boulder Station in the city’s eastern part. The casino hotel is owned and operated by the same company as the Red Rock, Station Casinos LLC, and offers just over 2,500 different slot titles. Boulder Station is an excellent choice since it’s closer to The Strip if you want to go there for a stroll, but the rooms and overall design are more outdated than the Red Rock.
Other casinos off the main street with over 2,000 slot machines include The Orleans, Green Valley Ranch Resort, and the Sunset Station Hotel. All options are within a 20-minute car drive from the center, so you could technically stay on The Strip for the vibe and travel for a wider selection of games.
Playing Slots on The Strip
If staying or playing off The Strip isn’t an option for you, there’s no need to get desperate. The biggest and best casinos in the center still offer a huge number of games.
The pack leader is The Wynn, where you will find roughly 1,850 slot machines across their casino floor. Ceasers Palace is a close second with 1,600 machines, followed by the Venetian, Bellagio, Cosmo, Aria, and the MGM Grand. All of them feature between 1,200 and 1,400 slot games.
If neither the slot selection on or off The Strip satisfy you, there’s still the option to play slots online. Most online casinos feature thousands of online slots from hundreds of operators, so you’re probably more likely to be over than underwhelmed with the choice there.
Fun fact: No matter whether you choose to play in the city of Las Vegas, off The Strip, or online, slot machines account for the majority of gross gaming revenue at any casino. Although table games like Blackjack and Roulette see more high-rollers hit their tables, (online) slots outperform all other casino games due to their high-frequency nature of play and flat learning curve.
