Public Welcome to Attend Games – Free Spectator Admission
The Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup International Showcase is back for the 14th year as one of the largest international youth soccer tournaments in the country during Presidents’ Day weekend, Feb. 19-21 (boys), and Feb. 25-27 (girls).
The annual showcase expects 425 male youth soccer teams and 282 female teams, all ages 11-19, from Canada, France, Mexico, Peru and 22 U.S. states, to compete on valley fields at seven different parks.
The event is co-hosted by the city of Las Vegas and the Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club, and is expected to bring about $29 million into the local economy, according to Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club President Roger Tabor. The showcase is expecting more than 200 college soccer coaches and recruiters from across the country to scout the young athletes.
Spectator admission and parking are free at all games. Parking is limited; carpooling and public transportation are recommended. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own seating to attend games at the following fields:
- Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, 7353 Eugene Ave.
- Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington Ave.
- Ed Fountain Park, 1400 N. Decatur Road.
- Alyn Beck Memorial Park, 9145 N. Sky Canyon Park Drive.
- Centennial Hills Park, 7091 N. Buffalo Drive.
- Thunderbird Family Sports Complex, 6105 N. Durango Drive.
- James Regional Sports Park, 8400 W. Robindale Road.
“This is the 14th tournament to be held over Presidents’ Day weekends,” said Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman. “Once again, we have had to split this event over two weekends to accommodate all the local, national, and international youth teams that want to compete, while at the same time being able to provide the fields, time, and have sufficient referees to officiate. Teams are anxious to enjoy our wonderful weather, be seen and watched by recruiting college and team coaches, and of course to make new friends, boost our economy and enjoy great soccer competition. I’m so proud that Las Vegas hosts such an outstanding annual event!”
Matches will be played from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Teams are guaranteed four games.
