29th Annual Casino Collectibles Association Show set for June 16 -18 at the South Point Casino
The Casino Collectibles Association has announced that the 29th annual Casino Chip and Collectibles Show is returning to the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Thursday through Saturday, June 16-18, 2022. It is the World’s Largest Casino Chip and Collectibles exhibition, a must-see event for lovers of gaming history represented by casino memorabilia, souvenirs and ephemera.
Gaming history is on full display and everyone is invited to join in the fun of examining, buying, selling, trading or even evaluating casino collectibles and mementos. Over 50 dealers of casino memorabilia from all over the world will feature museum-like exhibits, including many rare, unique and one-of-a-kind casino paraphernalia. Plans are underway for visitors to “Double Down” on the experience elbow-to-elbow with local celebrities. The show is open to the public all three days, with a $10 admission fee on Thursday, $5 on Friday, and FREE on Saturday.
Since casinos first opened, people have been pocketing souvenirs of nearly everything casino related, including gaming table chips, slot machine tokens, dice, slot cards, playing cards, matchbooks, menus, dinnerware, swizzle sticks, post cards and more. It’s a collector’s routine that grew into today’s passionate hobby, and has helped to preserve the past. “Just about everything that you could imagine with a casino name on it is collected, and will be on display at this show,” said Jerry Vergatos, President of the Casino Collectibles Association.
Show attendees will find displays dedicated to casino chip categories such as rare chips, roulette chips, counterfeit chips, illegal casino chips, odd denomination chips and collections dedicated to sports and even aliens. “Collectors like many of our dealers have researched and journeyed to the big city casinos as well as the back roads tiny casinos, and written books documenting the rich history of gaming. If you find casinos – and specifically casino history – a fascinating topic, mark your calendar now to attend this show,” added Vergatos.
Registered show attendees can also see the newest world’s largest casino chip and token collection (as recognized by Guinness World Records), take in the four planned educational seminars, or participate in a live auction of hundreds of casino chips and other casino memorabilia.
The Casino Chips and Collectibles Show registration and admission is open to the public June 16, 10 AM – 5 PM (admission $10), June 17, 9 AM – 4 PM (admission $5) and June 18, 9 AM – 4 PM (admission is free). Location is Exhibit Hall C at the South Point Hotel Casino, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, Nevada.
