The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will be ushering in the year of the tiger this Chinese New Year with an exclusive traditional lion and dragon dance and culturally inspired menus courtesy of José Andrés’ China Poblano and the resort’s original Cantonese concept Red Plate.
Guests and visitors alike are invited to join the festivities as the resort toasts to health, wealth and happiness for the year ahead.

Lion and Dragon Dance
3 p.m. | Saturday, Feb. 5
The Cosmopolitan will be ringing in the year of the tiger with a traditional lion and dragon dance throughout the resort starting at the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance on the first floor of The Boulevard Tower at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5. Throughout the performance, dancers will pause on several locations throughout the precession to partake in the lucky lettuce-eating ceremony.
China Poblano Chinese New Year Menu
Tuesday, Feb. 1 – Friday, Feb. 11
World-renowned chef José Andrés masterful blend of Chinese and Mexican cuisine is on full display with China Poblano’s specialty cocktails and a la carte options including Lucky Vegetable ($15.88) with wok-roasted beans tossed with scallions, chile de arbol, wine, and daikon finished with house made XO sauce; Scallop and Pork Siu Mai ($15.88/6 piece) with bay scallop, pork, bamboo and shiitake; Salt-cured Duck Bao ($12.88), a steamed bao with salt-cured duck breast, pickled vegetable and house-made hoisin sauce and Tiger King ($16) an exclusive cocktail made with Dewar’s “White Label” scotch, Dolin dry vermouth, Genbei Baijiu, lemon and Chinese 5-spice. Each dish is meant to bring wealth and prosperity into and throughout the entire year and are available for dine-in or takeout.

The resort’s modern Chinese restaurant concept, Red Plate, offers a royal luxury dining experience rooted in traditional Cantonese flavors. Open for dinner throughout the celebratory weekend, guests are invited to ring in the new year with a feast fit for royalty. Dine on house favorites, including Caviar Taro Puff ($19.88), Double Boiled Mushroom and Fish Maw ($88.88), and Whole Peking Duck ($118.88).
