The weekend lineup also includes a Saturday charity dinner featuring Kansas City’s premium wagyu beef
The BBQ capital of the world meets the entertainment capital of the world at StarBase’s “Comradery” epic tailgating and watch party experience co-hosted by the Kansas City Barbecue Society as the defending Super Bowl LIV Champions, Kansas City Chiefs, take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 14. The day features a full-fledged BBQ battle between local Las Vegas pitmasters and Kansas City pitmasters, flying in for the special occasion.
Fans will enjoy a supply of Kansas City’s beer, BBQ, and family-friendly tailgating experience with live music performances from DJ Amanda Rose, DJ Ahlan Wright, and Captiva, drink specials, games, 50/50 raffles, auctions, and appearances from NFL legends starting at 10:30 a.m.
A dozen pitmasters, seen on “Chopped” and “BBQ Pitmasters,” including Rollin’ Smoke BBQ, Girls Can Grill, and Jessie Raes BBQ from Las Vegas, and Fergolicious BBQ and Swamp Boys BBQ from Kansas City, will be slow-smoking hundreds of pounds of premium-grade meat with a variety of rubs and seasonings provided by Prairie Fresh, Fritz’s Meats & Superior Sausage, KC Grilling Company, and Marble Ridge Farms for the tailgate.
Guests will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets to judge the competition grade BBQ during the event, complete with a professional lesson on how to judge competition BBQ. Tickets are inclusive of a selection of BBQ bites; VIP ticket holders will have a private indoor viewing area with food and an open bar from the start of the event until kick-off. GA tickets are $50 for children and $100 for adults; VIP indoor tickets are $200; BBQ judging passes are $100.
The pitmasters will also host a charity dinner on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. to benefit veterans featuring Kansas City’s premium wagyu beef. Get ready to party with the three w’s – wine, whiskey, and wagyu, for dinner in support of a great cause. Kansas City grill masters will showcase Marble Ridge Farms beef paired with Kansas City’s best whiskeys and wines to support veterans. Guests will enjoy live music, a sumptuous wagyu beef tasting, and participate in a raffle and silent auction. Tickets are $200 (21+).
“As someone who grew up in a football family, tailgating is very near and dear to my heart and I’m thrilled to be bringing these two cities, one of which is my hometown and the other which is my current home, together for this event,” said Tricia Costello, co-founder of StarBase. “This event is about more than just the two teams playing that evening, it’s meant for all football fans to come out and have an amazing tailgating and watch party experience no matter who they’re rooting for.”
Tickets for both events can be purchased at eventsque.com.
