Dia de los Muertos, the lively Mexican holiday that draws on indigenous and European traditions, celebrates the beauty of life and death by remembering, celebrating and honoring all the loved ones who have passed.
Chef Jose Andres’ China Poblano at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas announces its annual homage to both the living and the departed with an array of sweet and savory special menu items available à la carte for dine-in or takeout, as well as an exclusive new cocktail to enhance the experience and lift the spirits.
Additionally, 2021’s traditional ofrenda (altar decorated with offerings) will be on display at the entrance of the restaurant and is dedicated to two legendary icons: Hong Kong American martial artist, actor Bruce Lee and Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, the Mexican professional wrestler and actor known as “El Santo.” The offerings will include marigold flowers, which are believed to guide spirits to visit the living during the celebration with their vibrant colors and scent, calaveras(sugar skulls), traditional pan de muerto, fruit and candles.
