Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, in partnership with Downtown Summerlin and Vitalant, the largest blood provider in Nevada, will host a one-day blood drive on October 1.
In memory of the tragedies that took place on 1 October, the Las Vegas community is invited to donate blood to help hospital patients in need of blood transfusions. The public drive takes place outside of the City National Arena from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Donors must make appointments in advance at donors.vitalant.org and enter sponsor code: VGK. Blood donors will be greeted throughout the day by select players, Deryk Engelland, Chance, and members of the VGK Cast at City National Arena. A limited number of tickets for Friday night’s preseason game will be donated to participants. Members of the Golden Knights broadcast team, as well as Chance and the VGK Cast, will also be making community appearances throughout the day.
There is an urgent need for donors of all blood types, especially type O-positive and O-negative blood types. All eligible donors can make an appointment now to donate to replenish the blood supply to help hospital patients in need of blood transfusions. It’s the blood on the shelves that helps hospital patients in an emergency. There is no waiting period to give blood after receiving an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine.
Appointments are required.
