Getting a jump start on the holiday season, Sand Dollar Lounge co-owners Anthony Jamison, Benito Martinez, and Nathan Grates have announced a new pop-up activation inspired by Halloween: Nightmare On Spring Mountain. Taking place from Oct 12-31, Nightmare On Spring Mountain will transform Las Vegas’ favorite blues bar into a creepy, spooky, scary, ookie celebration of All Hallows’ Eve.
From Oct 12, the entire bar & lounge will be covered in Halloween decor and lighting: jack-o-lanterns, spectres and all manner of the undead will be represented. The bar will offer a limited number of themed cocktails (and Oktoberfest beers, naturally) while there may be some scary surprises from the kitchen and of course, covid-safe ambient entertainment.
Costumes are definitely encouraged, including and especially on four themed nights during the pop-up run. During these nights all who come in the appropriate costume will receive a free welcome shot:
- Sun 10/18 Superhero night: Come as your favorite masked superhero or villain
- Tues 10/20 Evil clown night: You hate clowns, we hate clowns. That’s the point.
- Sun 10/25 Intergalactic night: Star Wars, Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy, Flash Gordon… let the multiverse collide!
- Tues 10/27 Slutty anything night: The sluttier the better (no nudity)
“People are looking for reasons to celebrate and loosen up a little,” said co-owner Jamison. “So why not get the party started and dress up a little? Goths, we are here for you.”
Unless current conditions change, seating will be by reservation. Walk-in customers will be seated per availability with priority given to those in costume on all nights. All safety and hygiene protocols will remain in place and rigorously enforced, including masks (the non-scary kind) when not consuming food/drink.
