Mountain Fest’s 2018 musical headliner, local blues bland Moanin Blacksnakes featuring lead singer Scott Rhiner, returns to the festival stage for this year’s event.
Lee Canyon announces the return of its high alpine summer celebration Mountain Fest, Saturday, August 7, 2021.The event features Birdies & Beers, an 18-hole disc golf competition that has become a local favorite since its inception in 2014. Throughout the day, guests will enjoy a lineup of live music featuring headliner Moanin Blacksnakes, one of Las Vegas’ most acclaimed blues bands featuring lead singer Scott Rhiner. Guests can also enjoy a craft beer garden, a vendor village, a two-person crosscut saw competition and other summer activities like scenic chairlift rides. New this year is the Throws & Arrows fundraiser. For $5, guests can take two axe throws to benefit the Nevada Donor Network or shoot three archery arrows for the Mount Charleston Fire Department. In both cases, participants will test their aim on balloons targets for the chance to win special prizes, and 100% of proceeds go to the two nonprofits.
“Our community values supporting organizations that protect the environment and help people continue to adventure. That’s why we’ve incorporated a fundraising element into Mountain Fest,” explains Jim Seely, Lee Canyon’s director of marketing. “Mountain Fest is one of our most highly anticipated events of the year. With the return of one of Las Vegas’ all-time favorite blues bands, Moanin Blacksnakes, we anticipate a great turnout.”
In addition to food and dessert trucks, guests can enjoy lunch and snacks from the Bighorn Grill restaurant, the Brewin Burro coffee shop inside Hillside Lodge, and the Bristlecone Bar.
