20 volunteers from Los Vaqueros Las Vegas are creating a safe space for pregnant teenagers and their babies living at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. The group is renovating a patio space off St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program’s cottage in Boulder City by installing a shade structure, a fence on the side of the house, rubber mulch, and landscaping. The additions will provide the teens living in foster care, and their babies, with a safe, private space to heal and grow.
Los Vaqueros is a Las Vegas-based charity which aids at-risk children, families, and military families. The philanthropic membership group invites men of industry to share their time and talents for the good of the community. They connected with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children and have now planned several renovation projects.
“St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is fully aligned with our mission and we are excited to partner with them, lending our knowledge and talents to help the children and youth they serve,” said Los Vaqueros Board President Alexander Koch. “As men of industry, for us to spend a bit of money and get our hands dirty for a few hours just makes sense in order to impact and improve others’ lives.”
Los Vaqueros will adhere to public health guidelines including taking social distancing measures, wearing face masks, washing hands and using hand sanitizing stations regularly.
