We are just about a month into 2024, but this year is already proving to be a “game changer” for Kelli Despain.
“Personally and professionally, life is moving fast around here. At work, we are getting ready to expand into a brand new building and at the same time, I am also wrapping up my treatment for breast cancer. It’s a busy start to the year, but I also feel really lucky to be where I am right now”.
Less than 5 years after Despain and her partner Megan Jones opened the doors to Bottega Exchange, a premier co-working space in Southwest Las Vegas, they are getting ready to expand into the empty commercial space next door. The new 5515 square foot building will add on to the current co-working facility located at 6675 South Tenaya Avenue, Suite 200, Las Vegas 89113.
“We initially opened our doors in 2019. We went through the ups and downs of starting a new venture, especially as we navigated the new normal with the pandemic,” said Despain. “But I really do believe we are coming out on the other side much stronger. Our plan is to offer our community of professionals more room to grow their businesses. We want to be an incubator for entrepreneurs, both men and women, essentially a one-stop shop for those looking to build their brand and expand their network.”
Among the small business owners finding success at Bottega Exchange is Marika Therrien, the owner of Blossom and Love. She describes her venture as one part, flower preservation business and one part coaching platform to help new entrepreneurs turn their passions into 6-figure business.
“I chose a co-working space over traditional retail because as a new business owner, I wanted a professional place where I can both meet and interact with customers and also where I can network with other small business owners like me,” said Therrien. “I want to have a place outside my home for a more work-life balance. Bottega Exchange allows me to have the best of both worlds., at a pace I want to grow my business”.
Therrien said Despain and her team were also a big reason she decided to come be part of the Bottega Exchange family.
“Kelli is just a ray of sunshine and always available to help,” said Therrien. “She created a beautiful and welcoming space for all kinds of entrepreneurs to thrive. Her strength is a blessing to everyone in her presence”.
This Spring, Bottega Exchange is planning a grand opening for its new expanded space and tours have been underway all of January for the public to come check out the space. According to Despain, the new offices are designed to be modern, functional and fun.
“We are looking forward to filling the 21 private & upgraded offices with a variety of local businesses and organizations,” said Despain. “All offices will have a full glass front and 2 regular drywalls with 13 offices having 2 glass walls and 2 regular walls. Much like our current space, members in the new space will also have access to a receptionist, mail service, printing and other perks that come with being part of our community. This project proves there is still very much a demand for collaborative co-working spaces in Southern Nevada.”
