Team Members from the new Durango Casino & Resort Volunteered and Presented the Check to the Organization
Yesterday, Tuesday, October 3, Station Casinos provided Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas a $100,000 donation to benefit the organization’s “Backpack for Kids” program. Leaders and new team members from Station Casinos’ newest property, Durango Casino & Resort, presented the check to leaders from Three Square.
The team spent the rest of the morning packing meals for the “Backpack for Kids” program, which ensures low-income students receive healthy food during the weekend or long breaks from school.
“Incorporating the new Durango team members into Station Casinos’ longstanding philanthropic traditions and efforts is a wonderful way to create an immediate impact in the community and we are proud to present a $100,000 donation to Three Square on behalf of the company,” said Christy Eigenrauch, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of Durango Casino & Resort.
Started in 2008, “BackPack for Kids” ensures that low-income students who receive free or reduced-price school meals through CCSD continue to receive healthy food during the weekend or long breaks from school. “BackPack for Kids” provides bags of nutritious, single-serving and ready-to-eat food items to food-insecure children.
Each backpack is approximately five pounds and consists of a variety of shelf-stable items that could include juice, milk, fruit cups, cereal bars, crackers, pudding, cereal and entrees.
For every dollar donated, Three Square can donate up to three meals.
