Originally hailing from South Central, Los Angeles, Imani (Emandu Wilcox), Slimkid3 (Trevant Hardson) and Fatlip (Derrick Stewart) from old-school rap group The Pharcyde are reuniting on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas for a one-night show that you won’t want “passin’ you by.”
The veteran crew boasts a legendary career spanning over 30 years and four studio albums, including their critically acclaimed, RIAA-certified gold debut album “Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde.
Initially meeting as dancers and choreographers in Los Angeles’ underground club circuit, the group would enter the music scene thanks to the guidance of Reggie Andrews, a local high school music teacher who taught them about the industry and how to record an album.
In 1991, the group would land their first record deal with Delicious Vinyl, leading to the release of their debut album and support slots for other prominent rap acts including De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest.
The group would later release 1995’s “Labcabincalifornia,” which peaked at the No. 17 position on the US R&B charts before eventually splintering with each member pursuing their own projects.
In 2022, Imani, Slimkid3 and Fatlip would pick up where they left off, this time as “The Far Side” and has continued to tour and create new music.
Tickets to The Pharcyde at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas will be available online starting at $29.50 on Friday, July 21 at 10 a.m. PST. Live Nation and venue presales begin Thursday, July 20 at 10 a.m. PST.
