Virtual Poker Tournament with “Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth to Benefit Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada Mar. 13-14

The first Play 4 JA Virtual Poker Tournament will be held to benefit Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. Hosted by the World Series of Poker On-Line, the two-day event will include an “all things poker” discussion and Q&A session with poker experts in addition to the poker tourney.

“Poker Brat Saturday” will feature the original “Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth. He is a 15-time World Series of Poker champion, best-selling author and arguably the best cash money poker player in the world. He will be joined by poker pros Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme. The trio will share an inside look at the game and their experiences, including bad beats and big wins, and answer questions. Following this session, John Kim, one of the best Las Vegas tournament poker players, will provide tips and insight on what to expect during the virtual poker tournament the next day. This will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 13.

The Texas Hold’em tournament is open to Nevada residents and will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 14. All play will be simulcast on the WSOP website. It will be hosted by Owen and Neeme, who will provide color commentary and go through play as it occurs live until a winner emerges. This also will air on Neeme’s YouTube channel for spectators.

“The Play 4 JA Virtual Poker Tournament will be a great opportunity for poker enthusiasts of all levels to gain valuable insight about poker and the game’s biggest stage, The Final Table of the World Series of Poker, while having fun and raising money for local students to learn important lessons about financial literacy,” said Michelle Jackson, president and CEO of the nonprofit Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “We’re so appreciative of our partnership with the World Series of Poker and our wonderful panel of speakers, and excited for participants to have this experience, as we continue to come up with innovative ways to continue offering our varied programming to K-12 students.”

Participants must be 21 years or older and be in Nevada during the event. There is a $100 buy-in and $50 re-buys. Fifty percent of the entry fees will go to the prize pool with the remaining fees to Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada.
