Published before National Stress Awareness Month, the book is designed to help users re-focus in order to minimize stress
Mingo Health Solutions, a behavioral health service provider in Las Vegas for the past seven years, has released its Youth and Adult Therapeutic Coloring Book. The book has two versions, one for adults and the other for youth, and is available through the Mingo Health Solutions website.
This therapeutic, interactive book includes inspirational quotes, affirmations, crossword puzzles, blank space for journaling and other activities to help users center their minds and release stress.
The therapeutic coloring book was released in time for April, which The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recognizes as National Stress Awareness Month. Stress has been found to be a serious health risk. One American Psychological Association survey found that 27% of respondents admitted that most days they were so stressed they could not function.
“They make great gifts. I got [them] for my family and let me tell you, they are not your typical coloring books … I started coloring and before you know, I had completed a page,” said Nancy Swanson, who recently purchased the books.
“Coloring books can help to relieve stress, are fun, and help with practicing mindfulness, among other benefits,” said Niakeya Mingo, lead community health worker for Mingo Health Solutions. “In creating a coloring book, we wanted something that was a little lighter, something that could take away from the heaviness of dealing with some mental health concerns.”
The book is available through the Mingo Health Solutions website for $20.
