Jordance Studios Is Bringing the Timeless Fairytale The Nutcracker with a Latin Twist and the Magic of Giving Back!
Clara and the Nutcracker have some new moves during the production of The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist. Jordance Studios is bringing back its twist on the nostalgic holiday production with internationally renowned dancers and young performers from the valley to perform in a production that will be unlike any other.
The show will feature an energetic fusion of Latin and Ballroom dance styles with an upbeat musical score. The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist will come to life at the West Las Vegas Library on Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18. The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist, now in its fourth year, links the holiday production with its community partner, the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDP) K-9 unit. A portion of ticket sales from the event will be donated to their K-9 unit to help meet the organization’s mission.
Jordance Studios has been bringing The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist to life for four years, and each year, they have partnered with nonprofits and organizations to raise funds and give back. The reimagined classic is a full-length ballet production featuring a mix of professional dancers and up-and-coming performers from ages five and older, chosen for small and big roles through auditions led in the Summer by Jordance Studios and artistic and creative director Luz Morante.
For many families, a trip to the ballet is a holiday tradition. The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist does not hold back as they bring a new modern, bright, fun twist for the new generations of families to enjoy. The production is led by the creator and artistic director Luz Morante and studio owners Paula and Jimi Jordan, who develop the Latin dance-infused choreography. Luz has 14 years of experience directing the Nutcracker Ballet and was the first artistic director in Las Vegas to feature a full-length production of The Nutcracker with an all-kids professional dance team.
It is a visual feast of lights, color, costumes, and dance. There is something for everyone in this production that is sure to delight children and parents alike.
Each year, Jordance Studios adds to the magic with a partnership that brings awareness, raises funds, and brings the community together through dance. The Nutcracker with a Latin Twist has been a community favorite since 2018, known for its high-energy performance and unique take on the classical ballet. In addition, the studio is partnering with the CCSDP K-9 unit for the second year to raise funds and awareness for the unit and their four-legged friends.
“The Nutcracker With A Latin Twist” is a family-friendly production that brings the holiday classic to life with Latin flavor, the founders say. “We can’t wait to bring the show back to our community,” – Jimi and Paula Jordan, founder and owners of Jordance Studios.
