Newly Refurbished Facility Hosts Classes, Activities, Events And Meeting For Community
The East Las Vegas Community Center, located at 250 N. Eastern Ave., will celebrate the completion of a refurbishment with a ribbon-cutting and neighborhood fiesta Saturday, Oct. 15.
The ribbon-cutting will take place in front of the main entrance with Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz and will be followed by a party with entertainment, food, vendors, games, bounce houses, face painting and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The new center reopens to the public today and features new paint and flooring throughout the building, a new front desk area and game room.
In addition, the facility now features two murals and public art throughout the building.
Starting today, center hours are Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The center offers multiple classes and activities for community members. Some upcoming free family opportunities include touring the facility and then making a free craft:
- Thursday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. – Create a Talavera Tile Coaster
- Saturday, Oct. 22, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Decorate a Sugar Skull
- Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon – Decorate a Personal Piñata
