On Thursday, Jan. 14, marquees on the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown and the Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Las Vegas Aviators, lit up in blue as part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation’s Go True Blue Campaign in commemoration of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
“We are grateful for the support that resorts and businesses gives to police officers, law enforcement agencies and the LVMPD Foundation,” says Tom Kovach, executive director for LVMPD Foundation. “They partner with us each year and this year was no exception. It’s a great show of support,”.
The LVMPD Foundation created the Go True Blue campaign to recognize and support LVMPD officers who, day-in and day-out, work hard to keep our community safe. The campaign is a way for community members to show their support for LVMPD and the strong partnership that exists and continues to grow between LVMPD officers, companies and residents of Las Vegas and Clark County.
