Resorts World Las Vegas hosted an exclusive ceremony at AYU Dayclub honoring global superstar and Resorts World Theatre resident, Katy Perry.
Resorts World Las Vegas and Concerts West / AEG Presents executives joined Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom as he presented Perry with “The Key to the Las Vegas Strip.”
Adding to the great honor, Commissioner Segerblom, on behalf of the County Commission, proclaimed Wednesday, June 8 as ‘Katy Perry Day’ in Clark County.
The event began as Resorts World President Scott Sibella and John Nelson, Senior Vice President of Concerts West/AEG Presents Las Vegas, welcomed guests, congratulated Perry on her successful residency and expressed their appreciation for her hard work and partnership. As the honorary moment neared, Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom took the stage alongside Perry herself and presented her with the “Key to the Las Vegas Strip,” and on behalf of the Clark County Commission, officially proclaimed the day as ‘Katy Perry Day.’ As guests cheered, Perry held up the commemorative key for all to see and thanked everyone for the great honor. Perry went on to describe her love for the city of Las Vegas and what the community means to her as she has deep family roots in the beloved destination. She continued to share how grateful she was to be a part of the city and be given the opportunity to take the stage night after night at Resorts World Theatre.
Katy Perry: PLAY debuted on December 29, 2021 to critical acclaim and has been a staple on the Strip ever since. In addition to her larger-than-life residency, Perry has ingrained herself in the Las Vegas community, making this ceremony a well-deserved honor.
