Las Vegas based bath & body brand, Nectar Bath Treats, will host a Drive Thru Food Drive to help feed Las Vegas residents on Saturday November 21, 2020 from 10am – 2pm. The drive-thru service will provide (1) free bag of food (canned goods, dry goods, bread) per car – all while staying safe and socially distant.
The event will take place at the brand’s headquarters located at 2020 East Pama Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89119. The format will be similar to the company’s successful hand sanitizer Drive Thru event which happened this past May. Cars will line up and form 2 lanes in front of their building while staff and volunteers hand out the food kits directly to each car window.
- More than 388,420 people, or about 15% of valley residents, suffer from food insecurity. About 40% are children.
- In even the most affluent areas of Southern Nevada, at least 10% of people go hungry with some regularity.
- On average, they miss almost 6 meals per week about 8 months out of the year. In poorer neighborhoods, the average rate is 20 to 30%.
As a result, Nectar Bath Treats wanted to do their part to help their local community & drive these numbers down. They are also accepting additional donations at their Pama Lane headquarters.
“This year has brought about an astounding amount of hardship and despair to our local community that we have never seen before in our lifetime. We may not be able to impact all of the problems that someone is going through but if we can help take one away, for at least a moment, then it’s a step in the right direction,” explains,” said Tom Taicher, Chief Executive Officer. “At Nectar, we believe in the power of the human connection, we believe giving is better than receiving, we believe that there is good in everything and in everyone. During these times, we have wrapped ourselves in our beliefs and we choose to never waiver from them despite the many uncertainties that lie ahead. With hope anything is possible.”
