The ARTSWORK pre-professional program of the Contemporary West Dance Theatre (CWDT) celebrates its first annual “Continuing the Legacy Dance Concert Series” with a collection of innovative works that explore the artistic range and versatility of the ARTSWORK dancers.
The program will feature works by CWDT founding Artistic Director Bernard Gaddis, ARTSWORK Artistic Director & Resident Choreographer Avree Walker, and guest artists 2021 Guggenheim Fellow & Princess Grace Award winner Tommie-Waheed Evans, and hip-hop choreographer Lorenzo “Rennie” Harris. The program will showcase both the studio company and training division, with additional works by Koura Wright, Sophie Henning and Tuwani Palacio. There is limited free parking at the Historic Fifth Street School at Fourth Street and Clark Avenue, with additional metered street parking in the area and a paid parking garage across Fourth Street (with access from Third Street between Clark and Lewis avenues).
“Bedtime Stories” is a coming-of-age live radio-style play voiced entirely by author Thomas Dudkiewicz. Conceived by Dutch collective URLAND, “Bedtime Stories” is an immersive storytelling experience with surround sound and many special effects, so reserving seats in advance is highly recommended for an optimal audio/visual experience. Seating is limited to 90 guests per show. “Bedtime Stories” was the breakout hit of the Singapore International Festival of Arts and also has fascinated audiences at the Oerol Festival, the Brisbane Festival, and on a tour of Holland.
