A 5K run and 1-mile walk on the Saturday before Thanksgiving will go a long way toward bringing smiles to children in hospitals across the country.
Orangetheory Fitness is hosting the Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 8 a.m., with registration starting at 7 a.m., at its West Flamingo location (4245 S. Grand Canyon Drive, #109). Registration is a minimum donation of $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under, all of which goes toward Win-Win Entertainment.
Win-Win Entertainment is a national nonprofit based in Las Vegas that creates opportunities for professional performers to share their time and talent with children in need. Since the onset of COVID restrictions, all performances have been virtual which has allowed more entertainers to reach more children in 17 hospitals across the United States.
“Paradoxically, the COVID restrictions have given us more opportunities to recruit entertainers and make a difference in the lives of so many more kids”, said Win-Win Founder Jeff Civillico. “There’s never been a greater need for what we’re doing, and we’re thrilled to have the support of Orangetheory and the community.”
While the nonprofit does not have any paid staff and all performers volunteer their time, there are costs associated with recruiting entertainers, coordinating schedules and paying bills. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Orangetheory 5K/1-mile walk will go to Win-Win Entertainment. To register, go to winwinentertainment.org.
