Aquarius Casino Resort, located at 1900 S. Casino Dr., and Edgewater Casino Resort, located at 2020 S. Casino Dr., collectively set a new donation record by collecting a grand total of 25,177 food items during its annual food drive.
“Our incredible team members have a longstanding tradition of hosting a food drive to kick off the holiday season, and it’s fantastic to see the team come together an exceed our previous donation amounts this year,” said Sean Hammond, senior vice president and general manager of Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort. “We’re honored that our contribution will help serve so many in need in our community, and hope that it will encourage others to donate throughout the holiday season.”
Team members at both casino resorts had a friendly interdepartmental competition to collect the most non-perishable food donations. First place was awarded to the Casino Operations team, which collected 8,427 items; the Food and Beverage team took second with 7,699 items; and third place went to the General and Administrative team, which collected 5,514 items. The supplies will be distributed amongst local organizations Food for Families and Colorado River Food Bank, as well as Laughlin Jr/Sr High School.
