Two-day intensive designed to help men heal from their past traumas
Licensed therapist Kimberly Malloy, MS, LMFT, plans to gear her eighth two-day intensive workshop, “Rising Strong” — based on the book and research of acclaimed author and speaker Dr. Brené Brown — toward a male audience.
Registration is available for up to seven men for the workshop from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on October 29-30, 2021, at the Center for Relational Health LV, 8879 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 101. “Rising Strong” is designed to help attendees learn to heal from past traumas and struggles and rewrite negative narratives to improve self-confidence.
According to Malloy, attendees can expect to be called upon to bravely and courageously examine and talk about their “face-down moments,” pulling them apart and reconstructing the narrative that has been playing in their head and keeping them from living their best life.
“We are in a place where everyone is experiencing trauma in one form or another,” said Malloy, founder and Chief Inspirational Officer of the Center for Relational Health LV. “It can be relationship related, job performance related or the changing of the seasons. Shame and trauma often go hand in hand.”
She said since shame and trauma aren’t often talked about, they grow when kept in the dark. The workshop will help men explore their need for vulnerability, understand empathy and challenge their thinking.
“Many times, shame can keep people from getting back up in the arena and trying again,” Malloy said. “I want to help men eradicate their story of shame and heal their trauma so they soar.”
Malloy is a Certified Daring way Facilitator. The Daring Way is a training and certification program for helping professionals based on Dr. Brown’s research.
