Popular Casino Beliefs

We’re going to tackle some common misconceptions about casinos and cover beliefs people often have about casinos.

For more information, check out this link for tips and tricks on how to make the most and stay safe within a strong online casino. The vast majority of betters and gamblers like to rely on luck, gut instinct, or simply a hunch. We’re going to cover some of the more common beliefs people have in this easy-to-follow guide. Whether you’re new to gambling or a veteran wanting to improve your chances or even just understand why some people might be doing these unusual rituals each game, read on for common beliefs as well as some traditions and origins. Luck is commonly known as letting chance predict the outcome of a game and decide who wins or loses. Regardless of what you believe in, sometimes there is no other explanation.

Good luck rituals

Some of the most common things people do in casinos are good luck rituals. The belief that acting in a certain way or presenting yourself in a specific way will improve winning odds, and behaving accordingly to those beliefs or superstitions, are the most common forms of casino rituals.

Blowing on dice
When faced with uncertainty, people look to traditions to help them feel more confident in their betting. Blowing on the dice before a role is thought to bring good luck, originating from the legend that dishonest gamblers coated one side of the dice with a sticky substance activated by moisture. Whether you’re gambling online or in a casino, be sure to check the state of equipment used and give your dice a virtual blow.

Wearing red
Despite some common associations with the color red, such as danger and fire, wearing this color in a casino is considered highly lucky. Taking a leaf out of the Chinese tradition, wearing red while gambling is seen as a symbol of good fortune, and you are sure to come across as bold and confident.

Number seven
The number seven is considered widely lucky and represents prosperity. When using online casinos, look out for the lucky number, and you’ll be sure to see good fortune.

Good luck charms
People use comfort items for reassurance when they are feeling unsure. Familiarity in comfort is something easy to achieve if gambling from home using online casino games with fanduel. Some common lucky charms include horseshoes, jewelry, four-leaf clover, but can be as random as a piece of fruit!

Bad luck

If you’ve had a bad experience in a casino or even not had the best day or heard some bad news while wearing a certain pair of socks or shirt, you might find yourself avoiding wearing that item because of the memories associated with it.

Crossing legs
Unlike crossing your fingers for luck, sitting or standing with your legs crossed over one another is considered to “counter” the luck given by crossing fingers. Next time you have a bad run, consider how you’ve been placing your legs when sitting down.

Number thirteen
This one might seem obvious, but the number thirteen is seen as unlucky in western cultures. Another number seen as highly unlucky is four. In Chinese, the word sounds like “death” and is considered the unluckiest number.

Whistling
Sailors were originally banned from whistling on ships because it was thought to make winds blow harder. This belief has been brought to casinos because it is thought that whistling brings bad luck and is also a distraction from other players, so is widely considered rude.

While the majority of these superstitions and beliefs can be traced through traditions and cultural origins, it remains purely up to the player to decide what works for them. Regardless of your faith, some of these interesting concepts can be widely supported, so be sure to look out for the number seven or pay attention to what color you’re wearing the next time you see good fortune. Overall, be sure to gamble safely and check out fanduel online gambling for more tips and advice.
