DISCOPUSSY, the late-night dance haven at 512 E. Fremont St., will host the Las Vegas Pride Parade official afterparty with HE.SHE.THEY and Bodywork.
The afterparty will include a collaborative performance featuring Kim Ann Foxman, Bored Lord, A.C. Esme and Brock G. Additional performers include Aja Hildreth, Beverly Chillz, Eva Soriano, Jin Ierome and Lynn Troller. The afterparty starts at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, with a free guest list all night.
Elaborate and ever inclusive party-throwers, HE.SHE.THEY, have teamed up with the queer-forward movement, Bodywork, to bring together a killer lineup for the afterparty. HE.SHE.THEY does it all as a record label, fashion label and queer party for everyone specializing in house and techno. The multifaceted group believes in providing a platform for partygoers and artists to push their boundaries. Established in 2018 with a debut party at Ministry of Sound London, HE.SHE.THEY has helped create a space for a variety of disruptive performers such as Maya Jane Coles, Ellen Allien, Honey Dijon and more.
Unapologetically authentic, Bodywork creators A.C. Esme and Brock G are queer forward local DJs who pay homage to the roots dance music has in queer and people of color communities. They created Bodywork as an intersection between the queer and counterculture to set up their own personal utopia, embodying openness, intimacy and acceptance. Designated “Vegas Best Club Kid Collective,” Bodywork champions a creative space that inspires authenticity and the release of inhibitions on the dance floor.
Conceptualized and designed by Corner Bar founder, Ryan Doherty, the centerpiece of DISCOPUSSY is a custom-built disco-octopus. The eight tentacled, articulated beast is made of more than 10,000 laser cut components illuminated by more than 5,000 individually addressable light emitting diodes. Controlled by state-of-the-art LED drivers, the sculptural display boasts refresh rates of well over 60 frames per second. Created by Keegan Olton in collaboration with Future TBD and Building 180, the tentacles present a colorful, visual light experience.
DISCOPUSSY is open from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Thursday – Saturday with afterhours on Saturday from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. and from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday. More information is available on the website at www.DISCOPUSSYDTLV.com and by calling 702-754-1225, as well as on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
